The Custom Shade by Innovative Openings was born from 40+ years of specialized experience in window covering manufacturing and retail. Innovative Openings has been selling roller shades in the Colorado area since 1980. Our company soon began manufacturing our own products to be sold at our brick & mortar location. We set out to create The Custom Shade as a way to make quality and custom-made roller shades accessible online, without the price tag of major logo brands. By manufacturing shades ourselves and shipping directly to you for installation, we are able to keep our prices low while providing premium products that outlast big box store solutions.
The Custom Shade is headquartered in Louisville, CO, where we manufacture and test every shade that leaves our facility, to ensure it meets our quality standard. Our experienced team is here to help you find the right shades for your windows and budget.

Roller shades purchased on our site are custom products created especially for you to the specifications you provided. As such they cannot be returned. However, if you make a measuring mistake and you let us know within 60 days of delivery we will remake up to 3 shades for you. See complete remake details.
You can return replacement parts if they are undamaged, in original condition up to 30 calendar days after the date of your purchase.
We offer free domestic shipping with orders on all custom roller shade purchases. Just select the Standard Shipping option at checkout to redeem the free shipping.
Our checkout process is one of the most secure in the business. We offer secure checkout via Stripe , Apple or Google Pay for your shopping convenience.
We know mistakes happen! That is why we will remake up-to three shades within 60-days of purchase if a product was ordered with incorrect measurements.
